This week started out really crazy with the show concluding the double elimination which resulted in the yaya ng bayan flying back to the Philippines.
I am just so excited and happy for Patani since I know she may have lost Survivor but she gained something bigger…Exposure! I'll be writing a blog about her soon so please read it here.
Okay let's talk about the rest of the week.
The RC was an exhausting one for both the tribes and myself. It was pretty exciting since up to the last two people it was pretty neck and neck.
It was tiring for me coz I had to watch both tribes and make sure they executed the challenge properly.
I had to issue warning after warning and remind them to put their hands up. (I sounded like a broken record. :) Pasaway din mga castaways minsan, ano? )
The way the challenge was going I honestly thought Naak was going to win.
They had the cloth on tight which would have made it easier to unwind plus they were ahead.
Jarakay had it on sloppy and the cloth was all over the sand and I was thinking "That's a big mess... goodluck!"
Midway through, Naak's technique seemed effective but slow. To do the challenge right you have to both rotate and revolve around the cloth and the post.
Think planets on their axis while orbiting around the sun. Jarakay was doing that although in a very un-smooth way.
There was a strategic error on Cris' part where he unravelled the last eight feet of the cloth without his tribemates going around. That cost them dearly because by then Jarakay was unwinding their tribe and getting ready to lay down the cloth.
A tense moment which wasn’t seen on television was when Marlon and Vern got into a short shouting match on how to execute the final stage.
In the end even with JC spinning really quickly, it was too late to catch up.
Jarakay won the reward.
More than the two pillows and the hammock though, the real reward was the major twist - kidnap a member from the opposing tribe, have him sit out his tribe's IC but give him the option to play for Jarakay, be immune at Tribal and not give him the privilege to vote.
So Kiko was kidnapped by Jarakay.
Couple of questions given our current situation:
Obviously Jaracay wanted to cripple Naak's strength at the next IC so they chose Kiko.
Will it greatly affect the performance of Naak given Kiko being the brains and one of the muscles for his tribe?
Kiko being in Jaracay. Will he be able to fish any needed info for Naak?
Will he make an alliance with Jarakay members to be prepared for the merge?
Will he confront Jace on the Thai Pillow Challenge incident?
What happens at the Naak camp without their undeclared leader?
Will they still function as a family?
Will they realize Kiko’s worth or realize they can be self-sustaining without Kiko?
Who will, if ever, step up in Naak?
If Jarakay sees Kiko as valuable in the IC and decides to let him play for their tribe, what will Kiko do?
Will he perform as if he were with Jarakay to get on their good graces so that come merge he has a few “points?"
But then again if Jaracay wins then Naak loses one more member and he will be consequently blamed for that by Naak.
Will Kiko sabotage the game and deliberately lose the challenge for Jarakay thus preserving his precious Naak?
And as if that weren’t enough for the week, two castaways will be sent to the hospital for various urgent health reasons and one of them isn’t John.
Survivors ready?
