Counting down the uses of the Survivor poncho and how this is a candidate as the ultimate Survivor must-have on any island. Before leaving for Thailand, everyone in the production staff has been provided with materials and gear that are essential to our island living. The most unflattering of those was that dark moss green, thick vinyl thingy which we later found out was a poncho, our rain gear. As days went on, we found more innovative uses for the Survivor poncho.

Metabolism of starvation made simple, Survivor Philippines-style. I have been told that there are queries on how it was possible that Nikki gained weight on the island and how it was that metabolism messed up with their system. “What causes hypokalemia?” and other questions that may have entered your mind while watching Survivor Philippines I didn’t expect much med-related questions would be asked of me when I first started my blog series. I was afraid I might bore you, but since I have been asked questions personally by people I came across with, I thought I should address them in this blog. Some of it have been queries or comments my sister and some of my friends have picked up from other people or from comments in forums or message boards. As I cannot answer all of them in one blog, we’ll have to do this in increments. I hope these would clarify things!

How were the castaways prepared for Survivor? Each castaway would have to undergo a series of psychological and medical exams. Then, they will have to go through a more thorough assessment with board-certified Internists. It isn’t easy to obtain these clearances. But when they have been cleared, then they are ready for the island. It’s common knowledge by now that each castaway will be subject to starvation and rigorous physical activities. They have to build shelter, gather wood for fire, and do everything to make their little tribe work.

How could something like this happen to someone as physically fit as John? Let me break this down. From last week’s episode, we saw John was building fire and seen repeatedly blowing on it when he felt dizzy. He lay down, fell asleep, but was easily arousable. His tribemates then noticed that his breathing quickened.

There is absolutely no truth to the irresponsible rumors being spread on the internet that the winner for Survivor Philippines has been determined. The final votes have been sealed, hidden in a vault and have yet to be counted. The tallying of the votes will only be done during the live telecast of the final episode in December. We wish to thank all our viewers, who have been following Survivor Philippines from the beginning, as the show has been reaping success in TV ratings. We encourage our audience to continue to watch the program as the episodes become more and more exciting each day.

At the southern boundary of Thailand lies Koh Tarutao, also known as Devil’s island. It was once a prison camp at the turn of the century and later had a history of pirates lurking in its waters. Its lush greenery and the clear blue sea mask the perils that lurk within.

Among the more than 40,000 hopefuls all over the country, we present the 18 Castaways of Survivor Philippines
