Episode 43: The tale of a twisted reward

Chalam was up for a very revealing reward challenge: Face Burning which was meant to uncover how the tribe members knew each other.
In the middle of the site stood the face burning station where the mock - up heads of each tribe member hung above a fire. Each head was held up by three ropes.
Each time a rope was cut, the head would be lowered into the fire. The tribe members whose mock-up heads got burned lose the challenge.
The first part of the challenge would be a survey about the qualities of each member. All of the answers would then be collated and tallied. The answers of the majority would be considered as the correct answer.
For the second part of the challenge, Paolo will ask the same questions to the tribe members. Those who answered correctly according to the results of the survey would have a chance to approach the face burning station and cut one of the ropes attached to the mock - up head of their chosen tribe member.
Whoever lasted the game without being burned wins the reward.

Nanay Zita had no hesitations as she went straight to Marlon's rope and cut the last one that left Marlon's head burning in the fire.
Charisse cut Rob's rope while Rob cut Charisse's rope.
JC also cut Charisse's second rope.

JC won the mysterious scroll.
"May dahilan kung bakit ang scroll na ito ay nakatali. Puwede mo lang buksan at basahin ito sa takdang oras na ibibigay ko, " Paolo said.
Paolo then revealed a surprise to the Castaways: ingredients fit for a feast. There was meat, chicken, fish, vegetables complete with seasoning.
But there was a rule they needed to follow: "Ang rule natin, ibabalik niyo ito sa camp ninyo. At habang pinaghahandaan ninyong lahat ang pagkain, bawal tikman habang niluluto. 'Pag may tumikim sa inyo, parusa."
Everyone was excited to return to camp and cook all the food.
"Super happy ako that they provided food for each and everyone kasi it's been a down moment talaga for me," Charisse said.
"Umuwi kami na high spirits, umuwi kami na very excited. In fact, nag-designate agad kung sinu-sino'ng gagawa ng ganito, magluluto ng ganito ng ganyan. And pagdating namin, wow. Wala nang patumpik-tumpik. Trabaho agad. Luto, luto, luto!" Rob said.
Everyone got down to work but Marlon wanted to do everything his way.
"Medyo sobrang nairita ako kay Marlon kasi parang lahat gusto niyang papelan. E, ano'ng oras na noon? Madilim na and lahat kami gutom na. Siyempre gusto naming tumulong. And siya lahat, 'Sige, lahat, ako bahala dito. Lahat kaya ko,'" Vern said.
Nanay Zita and Marlon cooked the meat dishes while Kaye and JC made some barbecue. Rob also grilled the fish.
The twisted reward
As they set the dishes on their makeshift table, everyone was excited to eat the mouthwatering food.
Everyone sat down around the table while Kaye led the Thanksgiving prayer.
Each of them had a plate of rice ready as they waited for the go signal to eat their meal.
The Castaways were assuming that some special guests would arrive or maybe the two members of the jury Kiko and Jace would be coming to join them.
Suddenly Paolo walked toward the camp.
Everyone was cheerful as they greeted him thinking that he would join them for dinner.
"Paano matatapos ang Survivor nang hindi ko nakikita kung paano kayo namumuhay?" Paolo said then he gestured for JC to stand in front of everyone.
Everyone cheered in anticipation.
"Survivor ready?" Paolo asked.
Everyone shouted, "Ready!"
"Buksan mo. Read it out loud," Paolo instructed JC.
"Whatever it is, congrats, JC, " Charisse said.
JC read the message written on the scroll:
"Bilang reward sa pagkapanalo sa challenge, may kapangyarihan kang pumili ng tatlong Castaways na makakasama mong kainin ang lahat ng niluto at dadalhin sa isang resort. May pagkakataon din kayong mag - overnight para lalo niyong ma - enjoy ang resort."
Cris' mouth was hanging open in disbelief while the other tribe members frowned in disappointment.
"Parang 'yung nangyari noong last doon sa challenge namin ng auction, 'yung subastahan. Yumuko na lang akong ganoon. Patay na ko," Marlon said.
"Nabitawan ko kaagad 'yung plate ko," Vern said. "Kasi siyempre, tatlo. Tatlo lang na kakain lang ng ulam na 'yun tapos pupunta sa kabilang island or resort. Parang okay, ayan na naman."
"When I heard that, wala na. As in down the drain na all my hopes of getting picked," Charisse said.
Paolo told JC to make his choice, "Choose wisely. Dadalhin lahat ng mga kasangkapan, lahat ng kinuha natin kanina mula sa reward challenge. Walang maiiwan dito."
JC chose Cris and Kaye. Though thankful for being picked, both of them bowed their heads in sympathy for their fellow tribe members.
"Masaya ako dahil napili ako ni JC pero nakakalungkot kasi kinakain ko 'yung alam kong gustong kainin ng mga ka - tribo ko. Sobrang gustung - gusto nila kumain," Kaye said.
JC then picked Rob much to the disappointment of other tribe members including Charisse, "Okay, fine. You hungry person na parang totally undeserving of any reward challenge. Parating napipili. Go lang. It's lucky for him na his close friends are the ones who win the challenges na nagiging rider siya with it."
Paolo then asked the four to pick up all the dishes they would bring to the resort.
"Nanlambot kami noong sinabi ni Pao na lahat ng mga niluto dadalhin namin sa resort na pupuntahin namin. Nagtinginan kaming lahat. Feeling ko parang... mahirap maintindihan 'yung (pakiramdam) na 'yun, pero 'yun ang sabi eh," Cris said.
Broken promise
While Marlon, Vern and Charisse assured the group that it was okay, Nanay Zita walked away from them disappointed, "Sumama rin talaga ang loob ko kagabi gawa nang si JC, bago pa lang kami nagputulan doon sa (challenge), nangako na siya sa akin na kung halimbawa ako man ang makakapanalo ng spa. Kasi talagang matagal na nilang sinasabi 'yang spa, spa (na ako ang isasama)."
"Noong pagpili ko kay Rob, alam kong magtatampo si Nanay kasi sinabi ko sa kaniya dati na every time makakakuha ako ng ganoong reward, gusto ko kasama siya para ma-experience niya," JC said.
As JC, Rob, Kaye and Cris said goodbye, the other tribe members did their best to conceal their disappointment.
"Enjoy guys," Charisse said.
"Ang saya ng laro," Marlon said as Kaye hugged him.
"Survivors, double time!" Paolo shouted from a distance.

marlon lumayas ka n jan....malap8 ka ng ktatyn...d k deserving manalo..demonyo ka tlaga!!!!qng pwede lng bumoto mga viewers buong Pilipinas ivovote out ka for sure..sana c mama zita ang manalo... go nanay!!!!
oo may pagka-demonyo nga talaga si marlon pero yun talaga yung strategy niya eh...kasi alam niyang wala na siyang pinanghahawakan kundi ang mang-brainwash ng mga naak people. si jc naman, madaling nagogoyo ang mga tao kasi mukhang di-makabasag pinggan. pero hintayin nyo lang na maging all-naak yung final 5, sinasabi ko sa inyo lalabas at lalabas din ang kasamaan ng budhi niya.
a BIG, BIG WHY? JC.... why did you choose Chris and Kaye, who betrayed Naak, over Nanay Zita! You should have chosen: Nanay Zita, Rob, Vern, Charisse, Kaye, or Chris, in decending order.

Si Marlon ay laging aktibo na maguyo niya ang iba sa kanyang side. Pina-iyak niya si Nay Zita at tapos nagsorry, all along di alam ni Nay Zita na pagkontrol lang ang layunin ni Marlon. Katulad kay Kaye and Cris, si Nay Zita ay mahina rin ang loob at kailangan lang ng isang tao na "magpapalakas" sa kanila to make drastic or major decisions, na kakumbinse-kumbinse nga, pero di nila alam pinag-lalaruan lang sila nila Marlon, Charisse at Vern. Halatang-halata nga ang mga diskarte nila, eto bga dalwa si Marlon at Charisse partners in crime na talaga. Niyapos pa ni Kaye si Marlon bago sila umalis papunta sa resort, na mukhang ayaw nya magtampo o mag-isip ng masama si Marlon at parang ina-assure niya siya na magka-alyansa pa rin sila.

I swear to myself not to watch Survivor Philippines for a while, until Marlon will be cast off in the island.. nabwibwisit tlga ako sa knya.. anyweiz.. Ill be reading updates from SP website.. BTWS, I love SP website rather than PBB's website before.. MAs detailed dito compared to the other one.
in my opinion magaling yung strategy ni JC...sia nga actually ang may pinakamagaling at almost malinis na strategy (if not perfect)...tahimik lang sia...he is showing to all castaways na hindi sia gaanong "threat" kaya hindi sia napagiinitan...and i bet kapag konti na lang sira na natitira...ilalabas na ni jc ang pagiging athlete nia to win immunity...and sa final jury, he is most likely to be chosen by the jury to be the sole survivor kasi walang atraso sa kanila si JC.
